The Project has finally kickstarted into action with the arrival of the first ever batch of the Auroville Green Practices’ Summer School.
A group of 22 architecture students, graduates and enthusiasts have come to Auroville for a three week workshop on green building practices.
For the next 21 days, these bright young minds will be involved in a multitude of activities; from Yoga, to hands on building, from Personal reflection sessions for a holistic design perspective to technical building seminars and inspiring movies sessions. Apart from being an innovative program for the participants, the Summer School is in turn going to be a great head start for the Sacred Groves Community project.
One of the hands-on building assignments for this team, is going to be the dismantling of our ‘Office on Wheels’ at the International Pavilion and re- assembling it at the site of our new community. The structure will be bigger and better with space for more volunteers to stay. So far, a great beginning for this great idea!
